Facial Guasha & Moxibustion method

You might have seen me talking about it but didn't share much details. Here you go... 

If you are looking for improved complexion and radiance, you can try this method. 

Recommended to do during daytime: Before 11am or 1 to 5pm. (AI said that we shouldn't do it at night based on the 12时辰 theory although the trainer didn't forbid us to, usually they share at night, so typically before 9pm is when it ends)

Maximum to be done up to twice a week.

Step 1: Follow the 12 meridians face guasha method (YouTube video, one of the method I learnt from, they extracted from a paid program)

Jade Guasha Board - just get 2 pieces of the identical type to make the process faster, we can do both side of our face and head together. I recommend that we just use this design for the entire process so it would be more economical and efficient. The gap at the bottom can be used for the chin scrapping, it works the same as mentioned in a different program from the same company.

Step 2 (Optional for better effect): Facial Moxibustion, do not bath after this for about 4 hours. After facial guasha above, we can light moxa sticks (recommended size: 1.3/1.2cm wide x 1.5cm long) using Facial Moxibustion stick, in a upward, lifting manner, from left to right, forehead to chin. 

Apply more Facial Oil first, then in a similar upward movement as guasha steps, just need to cover upward direction across forehead, eyebrow, temple, below the eyes, cheeks, chin to ear area. At the places where you have more spots or wrinkles, you can do small rotating round steps about 10 times in each area.

Jade Moxibustion Stick - older version (used to cost like $10+, current price $22).

Bianshi Moxibustion Stick - new version (~$10+). The head of this version can be twisted for ease of use and can be used on more parts of our body easily. 

Summary of items you will need:

• Jade guasha board
• Ruyi | Facial Oil 
• Moxa sticks (1.2/1.3cm x 1.5cm length, 1:15 or regular type will do)
• Jade Moxibustion Stick
• Bianshi Moxibustion Stick

Ruyi | Retinol & Vitamin C Essence

This is fairly similar to the Lucenbase ones, usually sold at higher pricing though. I got it at a good price (better pricing to Lucenbase) to try it out to see the difference. 

The transparent ones is Vitamin C and milky ones is Retinol. 

The vitamin C content feels much stronger, not recommended to use directly after toner, we should buffer it with hydraulic acid, Astragalus essence or recombinant collagen essence first before applying. (Which means I will need more essence if I use this = higher price). I tried to use directly the first time and I feel slight tingling feeling and itchiness on my face (I think I have sensitive / fragile skin). With buffer, it works fine. 

The vitamin A part is alright though, it feels more gentle and can be used directly.

Rating: 3 out of 5. Because it would incur more cost if I continue use it after I ran out of the Astragalus essence. I can't use it with Astaxanthin Essence for sure as it definitely would make my skin worse off (due to the slight allergy mentioned in an earlier post).

RUYI | Whitening Moisturizing Anti-Spot Repairing Mask

I had gotten the Ruyi | Whitening Moisturizing Anti-Spot Repairing Mask as free gifts for the various Ruyi products that I had purchased to date. 

My skin felt very hydrated and firm after each use. Due to the Whitening effect, it is not recommended to use during days that we are doing self-guasha on our face; can only use during the "rest" days where we are doing light lifting massage for absorption, after applying serum, put the mask for 15mins then take away, pat the remains into our face then apply moisturiser and that's it.

Rating: 4 out of 5 as it is not the most versatile type

Medicube: PDRN Pink 1 Day Serum

I bought these from Shopee through new sign up promo and I had always wanted to try them!

Unfortunately, I feel that it was indeed moisturising but it feels very sticky on my skin after using. Very very sticky, even after applying a mask over it, the feeling doesn't go away. 

But since there are 10 pieces, I will still finish them up but maybe I should use half bottle each time hopefully there's a way to make it feel better and less sticky.

The bottle design is good, easy to twist open.

Rating: 3 out of 5 because the sticky feeling is still bearable and the bottle design is good. Minus 2 for the very sticky feel and I can't tell much about the actual effect apart from feeling that my skin is very sticky after use.
